How to configure a Remote Phone
How to configure a Remote Phone
This article describes how to configure and setup a remote phone on your Evolution system.
The first step to configure a remote phone is to create the extension in Evolution. Using the How to create an Extension in Evolution guide as a reference, create or modify an extension ensuring that 'Remote Phone: Yes-Primary' is set, as shown here:
After building the extension you will need to confirm the proper ports on your router are open, and if a SIP ALG is present, that it is disabled.
- Additional information on the ports necessary for remote phones can be found here, under the section titled 'Remote Phones':

After ensuring the proper ports are open, and that the SIP ALG is disabled (if present), you will need to configure the phone with the WAN IP so it knows where to find the PBX.
This process varies depending upon the type of phone and the phone brand/model.
- Polycom Phones
For Polycom Phones, reference the guides below based on your model type. You will need to enter the WAN/External IP of the PBX in the 'server address' field:

For Generic SIP Devices, the external Address of the PBX and credentials are provided by Evolution. You will need to input those values into your SIP device or softphone. As a reference, the guides for configuring Bria/X-Lite and the Zoiper softphones have been provided here:
